Snapshot London

This is a booklet of maps showing different aspects of London. Most of my time on this project was taken up with gathering the data for the maps. I created a program that would extract postcodes from sites like yell.com and upmystreet.com. The postcodes were then geo-coded to provide a set of points. The map was then divided into cells and the density of the cells was then worked out by counting the number of points in each cell. Different shapes were used to represent the cells like squares, hexagons and circles. The last map "Work" has a different sized circles representing the different professions to show whether the 3 professions clusted together.
